11:12 pm - Animals & Insects Don't Do Drugs
Good god, I feel like crap. I think I am officially done with roller coasters for life! Yesterday after me, Jen, Rose, and Jorden hit up Wonderland, I just wanted to die. I tried watching Alexander before I went to bed that night, but I only got about 20 minutes in before I just felt this wave of assness pass over me (although, that might have been the movie because I have personally taken shits that were better directed than Alexander). Today I woke up still feeling a little sick and I just can't understand why. Iron-belly Alleyne, they used to call me. Now even the thought of the Tea Cups makes me want to barf.

Hopefully I can redeem myself with the free tickets we got because of the bad weather. I just hope they're redeemable 15 years from now.

So other than that, the weekend was good. Spent most of it chilling with Jonnie LeJonJon. We played poker at Jon Yeo's house where I managed to kick-ass twice in a row. Things I learned: 1) Natalie can't tell a four from a six and 2) unless you have a good hand, always fold to Jon because there really is no telling what he has. Saturday, we bought roti (yum!) and watched Meet the Fockers...that's pretty much the best thing I can say for that movie. No joke.

Anyways, the flicker of this monitor is making me feel sick again so I'm just going to end it here. Time to welcome those Depends® years, I guess, and accept that I am no longer a human being.

6:45 pm - The Man Who Stole a Dragon's Heart
Ok, I figure it's about time to resurrect my journal now. You guessed it: I'm done school... and already bored. Heh heh. So what I'm going to do is try to bring this journal up to speed with the last four months of my life, just for shits and giggles and so next term I can look back and say "fuck, and I thought I had it bad then".

So where do I begin? Well I kinda let my laziness screw me towards the beginning of the term. For the first three weeks, I bascially spent most of my time trying to finish the work report I probably should have finished while I was still working. Go figure. But anyway, it all worked out in the end: my boss gave me an Outstanding on my performance evaluation and the school gave me an Outstanding on the work report. It was even considered for an award again but as usual, I lost to some hairy albino kid (I assume). The report's here, by the way, for anyone that needs an effective sleep aid.

So with that report out of the way, school itself wasn't that bad. In another one of thos rare little events, I actually liked going to my CS classes. I mean how can you not when you have an Algorithms prof. that's like a Chinese version of Professor Frink?? I think I actually heard him say 'Gleiben' once or twice. Plus, he was sooo into the course. Some things I remember him saying are "Whee! Aren't algorithms fun!" and "Ok, let's all pretend to be computers for a moment" followed by beeping sounds. Awesome! Now if he had just done the robot afterwards....

But now, what would Waterloo be without a little rapage? ie, midterms. Diversity of Life and Organic Chemistry were boring as shit and made me just want to tear a kitten in half, but at least they were bird courses. *releases stray baby* Operating Systems and Algorithms, on the other hand... let's just say that 52% of the class failed the OS midterm (myself included) and the Algorithms midterm average was 60%. Yeah... Fortunately, about two weeks afterwards, co-op came through for me with a job and I decided not to burn down the school. So now $3000 later, I have my second paying job as a Java Developper for this company, hopefully making $20/hour! w00t! I almost didn't get the job, too, even after being interviewed for an hour and a half in what was supposed to be a half an hour interview. At first my boss was concerned by my lack of Java experience, but you'd be surprised how faking an interest in something can actually get you a job. Anyways, it feels good not having to waste two weeks looking for a job on my own. :)

So the end of the term was basically just weeks of assignmnts followed by *scary music* exams. Can I just say that my exam schedule was off the izzle dizzle a bizzle for shizzle chizzle this term? Everything was spaced out, I had all the easy confidence-boosting courses during the first couple weeks, and every exam itself was fair (you honestly never know with Waterloo). So hopefully I kicked ass towards the end there. I was tempted to not give a shit about OS since it was on the last day, but having failed the midterm and wanting to never ever ever repeat that course sorta motivated me. After OS, me, Mike (housemate), and Tom (fellow OS survivor) hit up McGuiness for a pitcher (I almost forgot what the sweet taste of beer was like!) and I packed up my shit and got the hell out of that town as fast as was humanly possible: our place kinda went to hell while we were studying for exams and what not. You honestly couldn't walk five feet without hearing the crunch of a squished bug.

So in retrospect, 3B was an alright term, but it was just a bit lacking in the fun-times department. But then that's what the summer is for, eh? eh?? So now who's up for a trip to St. Lucia or the Bahamas?

I hear St. Lucia just got rid of some of the disease.

4:06 pm - The Way of the Future. The Way of the Future. The Way of the Future.
My brain is going crazy from all this writing, so I thought I'd take my mind off it by writing in my journal. The educational value doesn't really make it writing at all.

Anyway, the work report is still going strong. I'm about three paragraphs away from freedom, but only one paragraph away from complete metldown; it's a fun little balance! I'm pleased with the way its coming out, but a little unhappy that I had to cut out about 2000 words. When I'm finished writing it though, that uhapiness should turn into an orgasm of stroke-causing proportions so it's no big deal.

In the other 10% of my life this isn't devoted to this report, I actually had some fun this weekend. 'To & Dinu had another one of their drunken alcohol parties. I was ♫sooo♫ smashed! I don't know what Sangria is, but a bottle-full sure is tasty. For most of the night, I was talking to Alyssa and Joel at the top of my lungs. I think it's funny how I've never laughed so hard during a conversation and yet have no idea what was said. Oh. Man.

Last night, I went to see the aviator with Leo DiCap. All I can say is that's three hours of my life that I will never get back. And I'm serious: the movie is exactly three hours long, filled with quality shots of Leonardo DiCaprio's ass and dozens of jars of urine. Where is the suicide button when you need it?? I did realize something funny after watching The Aviator, though. Does anyone remember that episode of the Simpsons when Burns buys the casino and basically becomes a scary recluse? And he pulls a gun on Smither's to make him ride "the Spruce Goose"? Well, they took that from the life of Howard Hughes and I had no idea! I think I'll laugh 6000 times as hard when I see that scene from now on just because of the irony.

Anyway, I need to finish this bloody work report. Did anyone, by the way, see Joey this week with Data from Star Trek? I have never come so close to peeing myself from laughter in my life. 'Twas fantastic.

11:18 am - Updatage
I've got class in about 10 mintues, so I'm just gonna drop a quick update today.

So this school term is definitely not off to a good start so far. Despite my 4.5 course load and decades of free time, I've spent most of it trying to finish off my work report. It's been such a pain. My report is basically comparing three different pattern-finding programs, but I was having a hard-ass time comparing them because they spit out different formats. And then when I finally found a way to compare them, it looked like the results were absolute shit. This was all after about a week of work and even after I consulted one of my profs from last term (I was that screwed!)

All I can say is thank god for this past weekend. I went out with a couple people to take my mind off the report, like Joel who's finally back from Austria and had some very sexy stories. Then when I came back to my report, I was finally able to get the programs to output some decent results. Now I think I have some stuff that my boss will really be able to use and will probably thank me for. Plus, I found out Math gives you an extra day to hand in your report.

So I'm basically set!

Anyway, so the rest of this week will basically be finishing this thing off and then hopefully I can start enjoying my supposedly easy term. I'll let you know how it goes.
